Report: Liverpool could sell Marko Grujic to Porto, £19.9m fee possible

Liverpool are going to have to have a clearout this summer. The Reds need to bring in a number of fresh faces in order to mount a challenge for the Premier League next term. These signings will likely be funded by player sales. According to Record, Liverpool could sell Marko Grujic to Porto.

Ins and outs

There has to be a sweeping overhaul of the squad over the summer.

Although the powers that be have denied any prospect of such an overhaul we believe that it could well be on the cards which the club typically keeps close to its chest.

The midfield is stacked with players but plenty of them are either perpetually injured or not good enough.

We could well see Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moved on.

Meanwhile Gini Wijnaldum is expected to leave the club on a free transfer.

Marko Grujic and Porto

Last year the Reds were looking for a clearout but the financial impact of the global health crisis prevented potential buyers from paying the club’s asking prices.

As a result some players ended up out on loan, Marko Grujic was sent to Porto.

Although the Serbian star has been a fringe player for most of the season he’s recently taken on a more prominent place in the squad.

Record in Portugal has claimed that Marko Grujic could stay at Porto with the club keen on a permanent move.

The Reds allegedly demanded around £19.9m for the midfielder last summer.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool selling Marko Grujic could be key to our summer plans.

We’ve got plenty of work to do in the market, raking in a substantial fee for the midfielder could go a long way.

Hopefully we’ll see some movement on this one, we want to see the Serbian nail down a first team spot somewhere – he has the potential.
