Liverpool beat Aston Villa

The Reds need to win all of their remaining games to claim top four.

It is not in our hands but with only a few points separating those battling for a Champions League spot we can hope that those around us will slip up at some point.

This weekend saw a closely ran affair with Aston Villa going ahead in the first half despite the Reds’ dominance.

An equaliser was chalked off by the merest of margins with Diogo Jota’s elbow deemed offside.

Alan Shearer on Alexander-Arnold

The Scouser in our team had a blinder yesterday.

Trent was a standout performer with his goal coming at the perfect time.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Alan Shearer was full of praise for Trent Alexander-Arnold, saying of the right back:

“We’re going to talk about him because of his brilliance today, and he’s won the game for Liverpool in front of the watching England manager.

“He was bright, alert and he produced some very, very good moments. And I thought he was Liverpool’s best player.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool needed a hero yesterday and they got one.

Alan Shearer isn’t alone in his praise for Trent Alexander-Arnold, we all thought he was magnificent from the off.

He keeps proving a point when he has to and he’s showing he won’t let mistakes or snubs get to him.
