Trent Alexander-Arnold sent out a message on Twitter after scoring a late winner against Aston Villa. The Liverpool star has had a tough time of late.
Trent Alexander-Arnold once again took the headlines this week with a winner against Aston Villa. And what a winner it was.
With time ticking away in stoppage time, the Scouser popped up to smash one in from just inside the box. It was an arrowed finish, straight into the bottom corner.
And it was a vital goal for Liverpool. They haven’t won a Premier League game at Anfield since before Christmas, after all.
In fact, they hadn’t scored a goal from open play at home in the league since the turn of the year. It was an embarrassing record but one Mohamed Salah ended with a second-half header.

The big goal, though, was Alexander-Arnold’s winner. Liverpool needed that win to keep up pressure in the top four race, to end their awful home form, and to gain some momentum for midweek.
They’ve got their second-leg against Real Madrid and won’t have wanted to go into that without a win.
Fortunately, Alexander-Arnold popped up with a goal. It comes after a difficult spell for the full-back – left out of the England squad and targeted in Madrid.
He took to Twitter after the goal, offering up a cheeky response.
‘Are you not entertained!?’ he asked, along with an image of him kissing the badge.
We couldn’t be happier for Trent Alexander-Arnold. He’s had so much stick of late but once again, showed everyone what he’s capable of.
Will it answer those who believe he can’t defend? Of course not. But it does highlight just how fantastic he is going forward.
We were certainly entertained – we can only hope the watching Gareth Southgate got the message, too.
