Odsonne Edouard could cost under £20m, according to reports. Liverpool supposedly want the forward.
This comes from Eurosport. They claim that Odsonne Edouard would likely cost under £20m.
That’s because of his contract, which doesn’t have much longer left to run. Celtic wouldn’t be a in a good bargaining position, allowing a team to swoop in and sign Edouard on the cheap.
And that team could be Liverpool. Ian McGarry recently told the Transfer Window Podcast that the Reds are looking at the forward for a summer move.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing anyone decent for under £20m is a bargain, of course. But we think Edouard could be the answer to a reported question.

The Athletic believes Jurgen Klopp wants a particular type of player this summer – a supplemental forward. That is, someone who offers a different style to the current options.
Edouard could do just that. He’s a natural striker, which Liverpool don’t really have outside of Divock Origi.
We expect the Belgian to leave in the summer, however. That opens the door to a replacement and, hopefully, an upgrade.
We think Edouard would be that upgrade. He only turned 23 in January and has been a consistent goalscorer over the last few years in Scotland.
He even won the Footballer of the Year award last season, complementing his 82 goals over the last three seasons. It’s hard to turn your nose up to that.
Let alone for under £20m. Liverpool may get most of that fee just from selling Origi – if they find the right buyer.
They could then sign a more proven, younger upgrade for the extra cash. To us, that seems like a no-brainer.
So we’ll see what Liverpool do but this makes a lot of sense to us. They can give Klopp his extra firepower at very little risk.
