Liverpool are going to have to make some decisive moves in the transfer market this summer. The Reds have had the squad stretched thin by injuries this term and we can’t afford to see it happen again. According to Ronan Murphy, Liverpool could sign Ibrahima Konate and Ozan Kabak.

Centre back debate
The Reds lost everyone of their senior centre backs to injury this season.
Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip were all ruled out until the 2021-22 campaign, the first two dropping out in the autumn.
This stretched the squad to breaking point. In the winter window the Reds brought in Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies to help plug the gaps.
Kabak was brought in on loan with an option to buy. At the moment it’s unclear whether the Reds will use the option.
Matters have been confused further by reports that Liverpool are closing in on Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.
Liverpool could sign Konate and Kabak
People are now wondering whether Liverpool will sign Ibrahima Konate or Ozan Kabak.
However, one expert has claimed that the Reds could well sign both, Bundesliga expert Ronan Murphy told the Liverpool ECHO:
“[Ibrahima Konate] looks like he could be a perfect partner for Van Dijk as he’s right sided and Virgil’s strengths will help improve his own game.
“Konate isn’t the best passer, but playing alongside Van Dijk, he would not need to be.
“He’s probably very similar to Kabak but a better, if less fit, player. Both have huge potential, so it wouldn’t be a surprise for Liverpool to sign both and have options.”
What RTK has to say
This would be the ideal scenario.
Liverpool should land Konate and Kabak whilst moving on Ben Davies and Joel Matip.
We need five senior centre backs, the fifth choice being Nat Phillips.
This season has taught us a harsh lesson, we need to learn from it and stack the defence.
