Performance of the season: Liverpool player ratings in 3-0 win v Arsenal

Add as preferred source on Google

Here are our Liverpool player ratings as the Reds beat Arsenal 3-0. Liverpool were magnificent at the Emirates.

Alisson – 7

It’s a token score, really – he didn’t have anything to do.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 9

Created virtually every good chance in the game, including Jota’s opener. You know, he might just be good enough for an England breakthrough.

Nat Phillips – 7

The midfield press did its job and limited the pressure on the centre-backs. But both Phillips and Kabak answered all questions of them.

Ozan Kabak – 8

We think he played a little better than Phillips, particularly with the ball. Really starting to come into his own.

Andy Robertson – 6

Not quite at his most creative best but kept pushing. Like most, his pressing was outstanding.

Fabinho – 9

Liverpool are infinitely better with the Brazilian in midfield. Another fantastic display.

Thiago – 8

We’re starting to see his best. Played well both in a midfield three and a two when Klopp switched things.

James Milner – 8

Should have scored in the first half, certainly. But Milner performed as both a midfielder and a left-back – a great showing.

Mohamed Salah – 8

Was having a pretty poor game until his brilliant goal. Should have grabbed a second, certainly, but a very good display in the end.

Roberto Firmino – 9

What a display this was. Firmino back to his best. He was pressing wonderfully, keeping the ball, and leaving Arsenal lost with his movement.

Sadio Mane – 7

Played okay but his forward partners outperformed him. If he finds form anytime soon, Liverpool will look frightening.

Subs

Diogo Jota – 8

Instant impact and, surely, in contention to start against Real Madrid. We can’t quite believe how good he is.

Gini Wijnaldum – N/A

Rhys Williams – N/A

All in all, this was the best Liverpool beating Arsenal 3-0 was the performance of the season so far and we reflected that with our ratings. They finally look like a world-class team again, even with all the injuries.

Things are finally coming together.
