Liverpool have been hoovering up some of the brightest young talents in the game in recent windows. The Reds have been successfully stacking the academy with wonderkids and this summer could see further arrivals. According to a report, Liverpool could move for Louie Sibley from Derby County.
Who is Louie Sibley?
19-year-old midfielder Louie Sibley plies his trade at Derby County.
The teenager has been with the rams since U8 level.
He burst onto the scene at the end of the 2019/20 season, making nine starts and two sub appearances.
In his first ever league start the youngster netted a long range screamer against Blackburn Rovers which was voted as the club’s goal of the season.
Liverpool could move for Louie Sibley
This summer could see a further strengthening of the Reds academy.
The Liverpool ECHO has rounded up some youngsters that may catch the club’s eye.
The outlet has said Liverpool could move for Louie Sibley in the summer.
Although he has failed to kick on this term, making just seven starts but 17 sub appearances, his potential is undeniable.
Wayne Rooney still has faith in the youngster, saying of Sibley:
“He has come on in a few games and he needs to show me that he deserves to play because I know he is an exciting player, he can score goals, he can create goals.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Louie Sibley would be an interesting move.
However, it’s one we don’t expect the Reds to make.
With Jake Cain and Leighton Clarkson knocking on the door and Curtis Jones impressing, we don’t need another teenage midfielder trying to break through.
We could make a move a lot further down the line.
