Liverpool haven’t had their best season. The Reds have slid down the table since Christmas as the injury crisis finally caught up with the side. The club are apparently already working at reinforcing the squad ahead of the next campaign. According to reports in France, Ibrahima Konate has passed a medical in Paris ahead of signing for Liverpool.
Centre back situation
This season Jürgen Klopp lost every one of his senior centre backs to injury.
Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez have all been ruled out until the 2021/22 campaign.
The Reds have had to drag midfielders into the back four and call up youngsters Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams.
The club put a plaster over the issue in February with the signings of Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies.

Ibrahima Konate passes Liverpool medical
This week The Athletic broke the news that Liverpool were close to securing a deal for Ibrahima Konate.
The 21-year-old French centre back is considered one of the brightest prospects in the game.
The Reds will allegedly pay his £34m release clause in order to secure his signature ahead of the Euros.
According to RMC Sport, Ibrahima Konate has passed medical tests in Paris ahead of completing his Liverpool deal.
Although the transfer can be sealed now, he won’t join until the summer.
What RTK has to say
Mickey Edwards doesn’t hang about does he.
Ibrahima Konate heading to Liverpool could be the signing of the summer if the lad is as good as people say he is.
He is supposed to have mountains of potential and at just 21-years-old he has over a decade to realise this potential.
We hope to see some more official, concrete news soon.
