Liverpool have enjoyed some legendary strikers over the years. We’ve currently got one of our most lethal front lines in our history. Things could’ve been very different. Having just announced he’s to leave Man City, what better time than now to remember when Sergio Aguero said he is a lifelong Liverpool fan.

Despite all of his achievements his stay has come to its natural end and he’ll find a new club over the summer.
Sergio Aguero on Liverpool
Way back in 2005 when the Reds had just been crowned champions of Europe for a fifth time, there was a buzz about this young Argentinian striker at Athletico Madrid.
It was during this time that Sergio Aguero opened up on his love for Liverpool.
During the summer of 2005, Sky Sports relayed quotes from the Munich TZ newspaper, with Aguero saying:
“If I had to choose a league then it would be the Premier League.
“I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there.”
What RTK has to say
He’s been a worthy adversary. He would’ve been an even better squad member.
Sergio Aguero not joining Liverpool is one of those sliding doors moments which has gone on to change the course of Premier League history.
Had he headed for Liverpool instead of Manchester then the league as we know it today would look very different.
We wish him all the best for his future, he’s a legend of the game.
