Liverpool are going to have to act decisively this summer. The Reds have had issues in the squad thoroughly exposed this season and we expect these problems to be addressed. Michael Edwards is allegedly already hard at work with the Reds reportedly submitting a bid for a Serie A star. Club icon Steve Nicol believes Liverpool signing Kalidou Koulibaly is a no brainer.
Liverpool bid for Kalidou Koulibaly
This summer there’s no telling what the Reds’ plan is for the centre of defence.
There is a school of thought that Joel Matip will be moved on, however, it’s unclear what will be done with Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies.
According to Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast, Liverpool have submitted an informal bid for Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Reds have reportedly offered £34m for the 29-year-old defender.

Steve Nicol on Kalidou Koulibaly
The move certainly has its backers.
Anfield icon Steve Nicol has backed the Reds to bring in the Senegal defender from Napoli.
Speaking on ESPN, the former Reds defender said Liverpool buying Koulibaly is an easy choice to make:
“I think this is an absolute no-brainer for Liverpool.
“You go and get Koulibaly because they don’t have anybody else anyway. Matip cannot play two games on the trot, so it’s an absolute no-brainer.
“He is big and strong, he can play, he has still got pace.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Kalidou Koulibaly would be a no-brainer if we had limitless funds.
However, how much sense it would make to sign a player on his wages, for that fee, when he’s turning 30-years-old in the summer, is up for debate.
The man is clearly talented but it would be a huge financial outlay for someone we would certainly make a loss on in future.
