In recent seasons Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool have developed a distinct style, a way of attacking unmatched by their rivals. The side has revolutionised how we look at wing backs. This season the wide men haven’t been as effective. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will be buzzing about Diogo Jota netting two headed goals for Portugal.

Fullbacks output
Under Jürgen Klopp we’ve seen the wing back role redefined.
Our two wide defenders have been our main creative outlets for a few seasons now.
This term has seen a massive drop off in output for the lads.
Last season Trent notched 13 assists in the league, he has just three so far this term.
Andy Robbo registered 12 last season and has just five this time around.
Diogo Jota goals for Portugal
This international break has come as a relief for many Kopites.
We get to see our players actually win a few games, even if only for their country’s.
This weekend saw Diogo Jota net two goals for Portugal.
The forward headed in a brace before halftime, two smartly taken goals which were cancelled out by second half efforts from Serbia, the game ending 2-2.
Wing backs buzzing
We were without Diogo Jota for a few months.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson must be buzzing about having him back, particularly with him showcasing his aerial ability.
The wing backs will be licking their lips knowing that their crosses from deep may be tucked away again.
Mo Salah and Sadio Mane aren’t exactly the strongest in the air, Trent and Robbo may finally have a target to hit again.
