Liverpool have a big summer ahead of them. The Reds need to overhaul the squad. Jürgen Klopp needs to move on the unreliable and unavailable and bring in greater strength in depth. According to the Star on Sunday, Liverpool could swoop for Martin Odegaard in the summer.
Liverpool history with Martin Odegaard
Way back in 2014 the football world was gushing over a talented young Norwegian.
Then 15-year-old Martin Odegaard was the talk of the town having become the youngest ever player to take part in a European Championship qualifier.
He was impressing for Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset and the entire world was trying to sign him.
The Reds were no exception, he even trained at Melwood under Brendan Rodgers before opting to join Real Madrid.
Liverpool consider Martin Odegaard swoop
This winter transfer window was a busy one for Liverpool but we weren’t the only ones hard at work.
Arsenal brought Odegaard in on loan from Real Madrid.
The attacking midfielder took a few games to find his feet but he’s been incredibly impressive in recent weeks, even netting in the North London Derby.
The Gunners don’t have an option to make the move permanent.
According to the Star on Sunday, Liverpool could capitalise by swooping for Martin Odegaard in the summer.
The 22-year-old could reportedly be available for £50m.
What RTK has to say
Given his struggles breaking into the first team at Real Madrid and the fact that he’s confessed in the past that he dreams of an Anfield move, if Liverpool move for Martin Odegaard they may just land him.
We have everything working in our favour with this one.
The Reds do need a creative spark in the middle, we never really replaced Philippe Coutinho.
