Liverpool fans will be somewhat grateful for this international break. It has provided a welcome respite from the Reds steady slide down the table. Plus, we can use it as a chance to see our players actually win some games. Ozan Kabak put in a standout performance for Turkey as they beat the Netherlands.
Ozan Kabak at Liverpool
The Reds had been linked with Ozan Kabak for well over a year before he arrived in February.
The Turkish defender joined Liverpool on loan on the winter transfer window deadline day this season.
The Reds retain the option to make the move permanent for £18m in the summer.
After a few shaky performances initially the youngster is beginning to hit his stride for the Reds, putting in impressive performances against RB Leipzig and Wolves.
Ozan Kabak for Turkey v Netherlands
This week marked the start of qualifying for the next World Cup.
My Revenge On Ben Foster
Ozan Kabak played the full 90 minutes as Turkey beat the Netherlands.
The 20-year-old was in fine fettle as his side recorded a memorable 4-2 victory.
Kabak registered 13 clearances and three interceptions in the game.
One of his clearances was of the utmost importance, nodding the ball away whilst on the goalline, keeping the score at 2-0 to his side.
Although he sloppily gave away a penalty (which wasn’t converted) in the second half he can be proud of his performance.
What RTK has to say
The lad just keeps getting better.
Ozan Kabak shone for Turkey this week and showed all of the maturity we’re going to need to see from him for the remainder of the season.
Fingers crossed he can maintain his form when he gets back to Merseyside.
