Liverpool could make a move for Patson Daka in the next transfer window, according to reports. The striker has a phenomenal record this season.
This comes from Austrian outlet Salzburger Nachrichten. They claim that several sides are looking into a transfer for Patson Daka.
The forward currently plays for RB Salzburg and is, effectively, Erling Haaland’s replacement. He’s somehow lived up to that billing, too.
Daka has 20 goals in just 18 games this season. He’s kept that level up for over a year now, too. This isn’t just a flash in the pan.
He’s still only 22, too, leaving enormous room for growth. No wonder, then, that teams want him.

Especially when Salzburg apparently want just £17m for him. That may be a lot of money for the Austrians but for elite European clubs looking for Haaland-esque results, Daka could be a bargain.
Liverpool are one of those sides, according to the report. So are Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal, however.
What RTK has to say
The competition for Daka promises to be fierce but we’re happy Liverpool are involved, here. We’ve beaten the Daka-drum for a while.
In fact, we hoped for something like this within the last week. Daka is a player that just feels like a potential win.
And at £17m? He could be a fantastic bargain if you can make those goals translate to a better league.
There is a caution, of course. Liverpool signed Takumi Minamino from RB Salzburg a little over a year ago and have never seen him at his best.
Similarly, RB Leipzig signed Hwang Hee-chan from their sister club last summer. He hasn’t scored a Bundesliga goal in 12 appearances there, though.
So signing from RB Leipzig is far from a sure thing. A goals-to-game ratio of over one is still tempting, though. Someone will take a chance and it might just be Liverpool.
