Liverpool are going to have to bring in a striker this summer, there’s no doubt about that. Jürgen Klopp needs to add a lethal finisher to the mix due to the goals drying up after Christmas. Of course, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are the dream moves. However, Liverpool shouldn’t ignore Patson Daka. He could prove a good value alternative.

Goals needed

This season has seen the Reds’ front three drop off in output.

The two primary reasons for the goals drying up are injuries and low blocks.

Build up play has been stunted and ineffective due to injuries disjointing the side.

Meanwhile opposition sides have set up in more stubborn, deep lying formations – content to just try and nick a goal on the break.

This has made chances hard to come by and our current number 9 has proved he isn’t the fox in the box we need in these circumstances.

Patson Daka numbers

This season has been yet another prolific one for Patson Daka.

The Zambian striker has scored 19 in 17 league games for RB Salzburg.

The forward started just 13 of those games, making his numbers all the more impressive.

On top of his goals he also has five assists in the league for the Austrian club.

Liverpool should pursue Patson Daka

This summer we need to bring in a striker, there’s no question about that.

Liverpool should be considering Patson Daka as a potential signing.

Given the amount of money a deal for Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe could cost, Daka could represent a good value alternative.

The 22-year-old would surely cost a fraction of the fee superstars we’ve been linked with could command.

We’ve been buying low and selling high under FSG – could Daka be the latest one to make us a huge profit?
