Adrian frustrations

Few players will spark frustration in the Liverpool fan base quite like Adrian San Miguel.

The keeper, signed on a free transfer in 2019, has been called upon regularly during his 18 months at the club.

For the most part he’s done well, he’s been downright impressive for a majority of his time in goal.

However, he has let us down in the big games. Silly errors have cost us big competitions. Fans will never forget his throwing away of a Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid.

Adrian and Real Betis

This summer sees the end of the Spaniard’s contract at Anfield.

A renewal isn’t expected with Caoimhin Kelleher having become the number two goalkeeper at the club.

According to Fichajes in Spain, Adrian wants to sign for Real Betis when his contract expires.

The Spaniard came through the youth ranks at Betis, spending 15 years at the club before joining West Ham in 2013.

The report claims he is hoping to retire at the club.

What RTK has to say

Adrian joining Real Betis can be a feel good story for the summer.

Whilst he has frustrated us on occasion we’re glad he’s set to retire where it all began.

He’ll be heading home as a Premier League winner, Super Cup winner and world champion.
