Liverpool are sure to be busy in the summer transfer window. The Reds will likely be making moves throughout the squad with a number of fringe players expected to be moved on and upgrades made on the depth in the squad. After his recent performances, Nat Phillips could save Liverpool millions in the summer.

Summer spending needed
This season has shown up the lack of strength in depth at Liverpool.
The Reds have been ruined by injuries with every single senior centre back ruled out for the season and various other fitness issues throughout the squad.
Jürgen Klopp was forced to drag players out of position and make do with what he had.
The result has been a slide down the table and a consensus being drawn that the squad needs major investment in the summer.
Nat Phillips Liverpool star
At the start of the season many expected Nat Phillips to leave Liverpool.
Whether he was to leave permanently or on loan was up for debate but he wasn’t expected to be around the first team squad.
The inexperienced defender was thrust into the limelight this term after a catastrophic sequence of injuries left the boss with no choice but to play the 23-year-old.
Nat Phillips has been incredibly impressive for Liverpool in recent weeks.
He has been so impressive that he’s been dubbed the Bolton Baresi.
Save Liverpool millions
This summer many expect Liverpool to recruit a centre back.
If the Reds trust the fitness of Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk when they return then they may not have to given the form of Nat Phillips.
Should JoGo and Virgil come back fit and fighting then we can assume that Nat would be, as it stands, fourth choice.
Phillips’ recent performances have been more than good enough to keep him as fourth choice, we could use the money currently earmarked for a centre back to bring in a lethal forward.
