Monster numbers

There’s no denying that the numbers Erling Haaland has put up are just ridiculous.

The 20-year-old Norwegian is certain to be the striker of the next decade.

This season he has scored 19 goals in 19 starts in the German Bundesliga.

In the Champions League he has netted an extraordinary 10 in six games.

All in all he has 35 goals in 29 games in all competitions.

Jamie Carragher on Erling Haaland

Plenty of Liverpool fans are crying out for the Reds to sign Erling Haaland.

In a time when goals are hard to come by, signing a goal machine makes sense.

Jamie Carragher has also urged Liverpool to sign Erling Haaland, telling Sky Sports:

“I’ve watched the clips today and I’ve always gone with Mbappe before but there’s something about Haaland. He looks mad, but in a good way,” he said.

“You see the celebration in the Champions League with the goalkeeper? I loved it. I’d go for Haaland.”

What RTK has to say

Whether or not Liverpool can afford Haaland is up for debate.

The forward’s release clause allegedly doesn’t come into play until 2022.

There is also the inevitability of a bidding war. If we want him this summer we have to pay Dortmund more than anybody else is offering. If we want him next summer we have to pay Haaland more than anybody else is offering.

It would be a tall order but it would be a massive statement of intent from the club.
