Aissa Mandi has set the terms for his next contract, according to reports. Liverpool supposedly want to defender.
This comes from Estadio Deportivo. They claim Aissa Mandi chases a certain wage in his next contract.
That wage is around £33k-a-week after tax. With tax, it would put him on around £60k-ish in the UK.
And that’s relevant, of course. La Razon previously reported that Liverpool want Mandi, much like they did last summer.
The Algerian international is out of contract this summer and while Real Betis will offer him a new one, he may move abroad. The Estadio Deportivo report states that he’s possibly most intrigued by a move to the Premier League.

What RTK hast to say
As we’ve said before, Mandi could be a very appealing target. He has little to no injury history, plenty of experience and is free.
It all depends what Liverpool want. Do they just want a reliable fourth-choice defender for next season? In that case, Mandi is as good as it gets.
He’d be able to step in as a very good option, doesn’t have the status to demand a first-team spot, and money would still be there to spend elsewhere.
Those £60k(ish) demands aren’t too high, either. Although, the report does mention him wanting a three or four-year contract. That could be a slight problem.
Would Liverpool want to invest that much time in him? Mandi turns 30 at the end of the year and locking him in until he’s 32 or 33 isn’t ideal.
Still, perhaps Liverpool could then consider their fourth-choice option sorted for up to four years. That’s not a bad things at all.
Only if Liverpool want that, though. If they’re more interested in a young player who they can develop into a first-team role, then Mandi certainly isn’t the answer.
