Liverpool will surely make some decisive moves over the summer. The Reds have no choice but to strengthen after such a dismal season. We felt the impact of having little quality in depth this term, this will surely be addressed in the coming transfer window. Liverpool could try and sign Ansu Fati from Barcelona using the same tactic which landed Thiago.
Liverpool need reinforcements
The Reds are in dire need of backup.
That isn’t to say that Ansu Fati would arrive as a bench player, we just need more options, more quality in depth.
Jürgen Klopp has seen his attack run out of ideas, out of intensity and energy.
We need to be able to rotate the side without a drop off in quality.
We need to be able to rotate so that we can keep intensity high, we can’t expect Mo Salah and Sadio Mane to be able to hound every defender every game of every season for four seasons running.
The lads need a break now and then to recharge, this is why new signings are vital.
Liverpool should target Ansu Fati
Last weekend the Reds were beaten at home by Fulham.
The lads looked completely out of ideas for large portions of the game.
After the full time whistle fans and pundits were looking for solutions; Stan Collymore suggested that Liverpool should sign Ansu Fati.
The 18-year-old is the heir to Lionel Messi’s throne in Barcelona.
The La Masia product burst onto the scene last season and has impressed with his sporadic performances this term, netting four goals in six starts in the league.
Versatile in his positioning and a lethal finisher who loves gliding past opponents, he has all the potential to be a modern day great.
Last summer the Reds made one of their most impressive signings in their modern history.
Liverpool brought in Thiago from Bayern Munich for just £20m.
The Champions League winning midfielder was entering the final year of his deal at Bayern and this slashed his price as the German side feared losing him on a free.
Liverpool could use this same tactic to land Ansu Fati.
The Spaniard’s contract expires in 2022. Given his enormous potential and Barcelona’s well documented financial struggles we could land a future great at a bargain price, the Blaugrana won’t want to lose him on a free a year later.
