Liverpool have been goal shy in recent weeks and months. The Reds lack of goals has led to many questioning whether it’s worth sticking with the current front three. A natural goal scorer arriving in the summer seems inevitable. Liverpool have been linked with a move for Donyell Malen.

Goal shy Reds
Liverpool thrashed Crystal Palace 7-0 in December and they’ve been rubbish in front of goal since.
Just why the goals have dried up is a complicated issue.
There are a number of reasons, ranging from fatigue and injuries to low blocks and a lack of inspiration.
The number of injuries we’ve suffered at the back has led to a disjointed build up.
We’ve been dragging our midfielders this way and that in an effort to plug gaps and it’s leading to a lack of a killer pass.
There’s also fatigue leading to a lack of intensity in the final third.
Either way, we’re not getting many chances and the ones we are getting are being wasted. We need an instinctive finisher to come in.
Liverpool linked with Donyell Malen
The Reds have plenty of possible avenues this summer.
Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are perpetually touted as the solution to our problems but there are also less obvious options.
According to CalcioMercato, Liverpool are interested in Donyell Malen.
The Reds will allegedly battle AC Milan for the 22-year-old’s signature.
The Daily Mail last year put his price tag at £48m, a figure which would surely have Arsenal kicking themselves given that they sold him cheap to PSV in 2017.
What RTK has to say
There are certainly worse options out there.
The 22-year-old has been threatening greatness for a couple of years now.
This season he’s been in fine form in the league, netting 14 goals in the Eredivisie.
He’s also bagged six assists and five man of the match awards in the competition.
Whether or not the Reds are interested in him remains to be proven but he’d be an exciting buy.
