Liverpool have been in dreadful form since Christmas. The Reds have failed to put together any sort of consistency in the league since we sat down with our turkeys; leading to a dramatic slide down the table. After yet another home defeat, Alan Shearer has singled out what worries him most about Liverpool.

Liverpool lose to Fulham
The Reds can’t even beat the relegation strugglers these days.
This weekend saw Jürgen Klopp’s first ever home defeat to a newly promoted side.
Fulham went ahead just before halftime when Mario Lemina outmuscled Mo Salah on the edge of the box after a poor clearance from Andy Robertson.
Thereafter it was the same game the Reds have lost for the past three months.
There was no intensity on the ball, a lack of ideas and a deep opposition line.
Scott Parker’s side held on with a few moments of valiant defending when the Reds got their act together for short periods.
Alan Shearer on Liverpool
The current form of the Reds is perfect for pundits.
They’re having a field day analysing the fall from grace, there’s plenty to pick apart.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Alan Shearer gave his views on Liverpool:
“There’s problems all over the pitch. They’re not scoring goals, no creativity, dreadful at the back, all over the place at the back.
“The most alarming thing for me would be the lack of intensity, the lack of energy and pace in their game.
“We associate Liverpool with pressing in threes and fours. Such a high line, You cannot play a high line with no pressure on the ball, they aren’t working as a team. At times it’s like walking football.”
What RTK has to say
We have to agree with Alan Shearer in his assessment of Liverpool.
The Reds have been utterly dreadful and they just haven’t looked at the races.
The pressing has been underwhelming, just limp and ineffective.
Something has to change, we really might have to win the Champions League to qualify for Europe next season.
