Liverpool just aren’t themselves at the moment. The Reds lost yet another game at home this afternoon. Just what is going on we cannot explain. At halftime Jamie Carragher had the perfect response when Gary Neville had a pop at Liverpool.
Liverpool have now lost six games in a row at Anfield.
The Reds haven’t been on a run this bad in my lifetime.
The latest defeat has hurt more than most given that we were up against a team in a relegation fight.
The visitors went ahead in the first half at Anfield when Mario Lemina muscled Mo Salah off the ball before firing one past Alisson Becker.
Thereafter it was the same old story, the same game we’ve watched for months.
The Reds had all of the ball and none of the chances, utterly clueless, devoid of ideas.
The visitors dug in deep and did nothing, just sat there in their own box, happily nodding crosses away.
It was just such a poor watch.
Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville
At halftime two Sky Sports pundits had an amusing exchange on Twitter.
Gary Neville pondered just how bad are Liverpool.
The Reds had just conceded yet another at home and the United legend spied an opportunity to get some Kopites’ backs up.
Jamie Carragher quickly responded by bringing up Neville’s disastrous spell at Valencia.
The ex-United star was appointed Valencia manager in December 2015 and he was sacked in March 2016.
Just how bad are Liverpool?
This is a full blown crisis and something has to be done about it.
The boss needs to figure out how to turn this situation around somehow.
He needs to give fans a reason for hope. A win against RB Leipzig would go a long way.
