Liverpool need reinforcements. This season has exposed a serious lack of squad depth and it is something which we expect to be addressed in the summer transfer window. A midfielder will be needed to replace Gini Wijnaldum. Liverpool could land Rodrigo de Paul if Gini joins Inter Milan.
Gini Wijnaldum contract expiring
Liverpool signed Gini Wijnaldum in 2016, he arrived as a goal grabbing attacking midfielder.
In the past five years he’s been moulded into a box-to-box ball winner, an all action man in the middle.
Last summer the Dutchman entered the final year of his contract at Anfield.
Barcelona were rumoured to be interested in signing him before the start of the season but no deal materialised.

Since then Kopites held out hope that he would sign a new contract but as of yet there’s been no movement.
Liverpool interest in Rodrigo De Paul
Plenty of midfielders are being linked with a move to Anfield.
Given Gini’s imminent departure and the expected clear out in the centre the Reds are surely going to strengthen.
According to TuttoUdinese, Liverpool are preparing a bid for Rodrigo De Paul.
The Reds are thought to be willing to pay £26m for the Argentinian.
Gini could be pivotal
There have been dozens of clubs linked with Gini Wijnaldum.
Italian journalist Sandro Sabatini has claimed Inter Milan have an agreement in place with the Dutch midfielder.
Should Inter Milan indeed sign Gini Wijnaldum then the move could help Liverpool land De Paul.
Inter are one of the Reds’ main rivals for the Udinese midfielder’s signature.
Gini joining the Milanese side could mean less competition for the Argentine. It will be sad to lose Wijnaldum but he could be doing us a favour on his way out.
