Liverpool have been goal shy in recent months. The Reds have seen their lack of squad depth exposed and the knock on effects have impacted our attacking output. A change in the summer is necessary, we need a forward. Liverpool signing Andre Silva ahead of Man United would be a big statement.
Reds goals dry up
Since Christmas the Reds have struggled for consistent form.
Jürgen Klopp’s side miraculously battled to top of the table in time for our turkey dinners but injuries caught up with us thereafter.
Teams were sitting deep and our disjointed midfield and defence stopped us building attacks how we have been for the past couple of years.
The low blocks and the few chances they afford have exposed Roberto Firmino’s lack of finishing ability.
The Brazilian is a creator, not a finisher. At the moment we look like we need the latter more than the former.
Man United want Andre Silva
The Reds aren’t the only side looking for a striker.
Our old enemy down the Old Lancs Road are also in the market.
The Mirror this week reported that Andre Silva is flattered by interest from Man United.
The Red Devils are said to be considering a swoop for the 25-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt forward.
Liverpool and Andre Silva
We are dying for a goal scorer at the moment. Liverpool should be in the Andre Silva conversation.
The Reds nabbing the Portuguese striker ahead of their old enemy would be a big statement, something of a power shift.
He has 19 goals in 21 appearances in the German Bundesliga this season, an impressive tally.
A natural finisher with a strong aerial ability he would be ideally suited to when we are looking to nick a goal against a determined low block.
If Andre Silva is indeed on the move then Liverpool need to be in the conversation.
