Liverpool are in dire need of a rebuild over the summer. Jürgen Klopp has had his lack of squad depth exposed this season and teams have somewhat figured out how to play against the Reds. A change is needed. Jose Enrique has urged Liverpool to sign Erling Haaland in the summer.

Remember Jose Enrique?

Liverpool signed Jose Enrique from Newcastle United in 2007.

The Spanish left back spent five years with the Reds, his career at Anfield hampered by injury.

The defender made just 21 appearances in his final three seasons at the club due to persistent problems with his right knee.

Despite his limited impact he will be fondly remembered due to his talent and willing whenever he was fit.

Personally I’ll always remember him for his part in my favourite Luis Suarez goal…you know the one.

Jose Enrique on Erling Haaland

This summer the Reds need to bring in more firepower.

Currently our striker isn’t striking, he’s missing more than he’s putting away.

Jose Enrique wants Erling Haaland at Liverpool, writing in his column for Empire of the Kop:

“My choice is Erling Haaland. We can rule out Kylian Mbappe – he’ll be too expensive. But I think Haaland is possible.

“He’s so good in the air – he’s a beast. Can you imagine Trent and Robbo crossing balls into the box for Haaland? Wow! They would get another 20 assists each per season.

“He’d be another dimension for us and is the kind of player we should be going for. Haaland might cost £100m, but we spent £75m on Van Dijk and that’s what it takes.”

What RTK has to say

Jose Enrique isn’t the only one who wants Erling Haaland at Anfield.

Just about every football fan on the planet wants the striker at their club.

He has a £65m release clause which comes into play in 2022, whoever wants him this summer will have to pay a premium on top.

Can we do it?
