Who is Jake Cain?
19-year-old midfielder Jake Cain has been at the Liverpool academy since he was 9-years-old.
The Wigan born middle man signed his first professional contract in September 2019.
He is an indispensable member of the U23s side, his creativity essential to the side’s output.
He has been an unused substitute in every Champions League game so far this season.
Jake Cain shines against Arsenal
This weekend the Liverpool U23s completed an impressive double by beating the Gunners 4-0.
The scoring was opened by Layton Stewart, the Scouse torres really starting to kick on at a higher level.
Jake Cain netted twice and assisted once with Ben Woodburn rounding off the scoring.
Saturday made it six goals and five assists in Premier League 2 for Cain this season.
The teenager just continues to impress and impress, getting better by the week.
Surely the youngster is edging closer to a shot in the first team, particularly given the fact that he’s been named in every matchday squad.
