Liverpool fans rave over Musialowski after late winner v Everton

The Liverpool academy is currently working hard at producing the team of tomorrow. The Reds have plenty of talent in the youth ranks but it’s anybody’s guess just who will have it in them to make the step up. One teenager stakes a claim this weekend, some Liverpool fans have been drooling over Mateusz Musialowski after his late winner against Everton.

Who is Musialowski?

17-year-old midfielder Mateusz Musialowski was signed from SMS Lodz in August 2020.

A Poland U17 international he primarily plays as a winger but regularly drifts inside and can also operate through the middle if needed.

He has three goals and two assists in the U18s Premier League this season.

This weekend was the Mini Derby between Liverpool and Everton’s U18s sides.

The scoring in the game was opened after just 28 seconds.

Melkamu Frauendorf blazed down the left wing before firing a shot at goalkeeper Zan-Luk Leban; his effort was parried back at him and the German nodded home.

The Reds held their lead for most of the game with some good chances for both sides; the woodwork was hit and impressive saves were made.

The Toffees drew level with an injury time penalty and it looked as though the points would be shared.

However, soon afterwards Mateusz Musialowski broke Everton hearts with some clever footwork and a fine finish to clinch a 2-1 victory.
