Liverpool are sure to be busy in this summer’s transfer window. The Reds need to add some strength in depth to the side after this season exposed some severe frailties. We don’t think for a second that they’re settled with the current centre back roster. Liverpool chances of signing Jules Kounde may have been boosted as Man United are reportedly unwilling to pay Sevilla’s asking price.
Liverpool need centre back reinforcements
The Reds defence has been ravaged by injuries this season.
All three centre backs we started the campaign with have been ruled out for the duration.
To plug the gaps Jürgen Klopp has deployed midfielders in the back four.
There has also been the arrivals of Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies.
Given the last minute nature of the arrivals we aren’t convinced that the club are settled with the current centre back situation. A new arrival could be likely.
Liverpool want Jules Kounde
There have been a number of names touted as potential arrivals at the back.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Jules Kounde from Sevilla; 90Min one of a number of outlets to make the connection.
The French defender is just 22-years-old and has been impressing at the top level.
He is noted for his pace, passing ability and strength in the air.
Man United pull out of race
There have been plenty of sides linked with the French defender.
The Reds arch rivals are just one of many.
According to The Mail, Man United are reluctant to pay Jules Kounde’s £68m release clause.
This could boost the Reds’ chances of landing the centre back, one less rival to worry about.
The defender is sure to be on the move this summer given the interest around him, hopefully we’re well in the conversation.
