Liverpool will surely have a busy summer transfer window. The Reds were more restrained then expected last year with the financial uncertainties posed by the global health crisis curtailing any extravagant spending. We expect backup players to be upgraded. Liverpool should sign Patson Daka to replace Divock Origi.

Lack of quality in depth
This season has really exposed the lack of quality in depth in the Liverpool squad.
Injuries have caused the boss to rummage into the depths of his squad for backups.
The front three have been largely unscathed but when they’ve been rested our stand in stars have been underwhelming to say the least.
Club legend Divock Origi has been particularly unimpressive, failing to make any sort of impact when given a chance in the side.
Divock Origi to be sold
We can expect a number of backup players to be moved on in a few months time.
According to James Pearce, Divock Origi will be sold in the summer.
The Athletic journalist told the Red Agenda Podcast:
“I think Origi will go and then you look at question marks obviously over [Xherdan] Shaqiri, over [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain.
“Getting a number nine in and replacing Origi with a much higher calibre striker, for me, is absolutely crucial as well.”
Liverpool should sign Patson Daka
Given the lack of goals from the bench the Reds need a prolific striker to be able to step up when needed.
Liverpool should look no further than Patson Daka.
The Zambian forward netted twice against Jürgen Klopp’s side in a pre-season friendly.
This term he has 16 goals in 14 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg and at just 22-years-old he’s only going to get better.
He’s the ideal age to come in as a backup option, eventually to graduate to a first choice centre forward.
The two clubs have a strong relationship, hopefully that helps grease the wheels.
