Liverpool have had some iconic managers in their time. Our current boss is arguably the best manager we’ve had in the club’s modern history. Over a decade ago a special man came along to restore the club to glory. That man may be managing in Britain again soon, according to The Mirror, Rafa Benitez could take over at Celtic following the resignation of Neil Lennon.

Neil Lennon resigns at Celtic
This season was set to be an historic one at Celtic.
The Hoops were in line to make it 10 in a row, a mythical feat which comes with the greatest of bragging rights.
However, things didn’t go according to plan.
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have been in phenomenal form throughout the season with Celtic falling to the wayside.
The gap between the two sides currently stands at a huge 18 points.
Given the failures of the campaign, Neil Lennon has this week resigned as Celtic manager.
Rafa Benitez could be next Celtic manager
In 2004 Liverpool appointed Rafa Benitez.
The Spaniard achieved Anfield immortality when he won an unlikely European Cup in his first season in charge.
Rafa also took the Reds to a Champions League final in Athens two years later, falling just short against AC Milan.
Since then he’s worked all over the place, most recently in China.
In January, The Mirror reported that Rafa Benitez was in the frame for the Celtic job should Neil Lennon leave the role.
Now that the position is vacant we could well see Rafa Benitez as the next Celtic manager.
What RTK has to say
We will always support Rafa wherever he goes – apart from that brief spell in London we don’t talk about.
Whether or not the Celtic job appeals to him is another matter entirely; it would certainly be something of a coup should the Glasgow side manage to sign him up.
Hopefully he does take the job, watching Steven Gerrard’s Rangers take on Rafa Benitez’s Celtic in the Old Firm game would be something to behold.
