Liverpool should pursue Odsonne Edouard as Neil Lennon resigns at Celtic

Liverpool need an overhaul up top this summer. The Reds have been lacking quality in depth, they’ve been lacking an out and out number 9 who can put the ball in the net. There’s an opportunity north of the border; with Celtic set for an overhaul of their own, Liverpool should move for Odsonne Edouard.

Liverpool attacking reinforcements

At the moment the Reds are seriously lacking quality in depth up top.

Diogo Jota is the only bit of quality backing up the entire front three and even then he’s hardly a backup.

Divock Origi has proved time and again that he isn’t up to the task.

We need a goalscorer who can step up for us when needed; we’ve scored just once in our last four Anfield ties, we need someone to be able to make that difference in these dire moments.

Neil Lennon resigns from Celtic

This season has been a disaster for Celtic.

On the verge of the mythical 10 in a row the Glasgow side have come up short.

Raphinha, Coutinho and Tielemans: The signings Liverpool could make this summer

The Hoops are miles behind bitter rivals Rangers in the table and this has seen Neil Lennon resign from his role as Celtic manager this week.

Liverpool should move for Odsonne Edouard

One of the few bright sparks in the Celtic side this season has been their talismanic forward.

Liverpool should move for Odsonne Edouard.

The 23-year-old French striker has 15 goals in 20 starts and three sub appearances this term; last season he bagged 21 goals in 27 appearances as well as notching 12 assists.

The Daily Star believes the Glaswegian side value him at £35m.

Given that the Hoops are set to appoint a new manager, tasked with regaining the title from rivals Rangers, we can assume they’ll need something of a rebuild to make up such a huge gap.

Celtic cashing in on their striker would give them money to use throughout the squad, therefore Liverpool signing Odsonne Edouard benefits both clubs.

We get a goal machine to add quality in depth, Celtic can rebuild their squad.
