Liverpool have been having a torrid time of late. The Reds unprecedented injury crisis has dragged players this way and that and it is really taking its toll on the squad. One man in particular fell well short of his own high standards. Jürgen Klopp has defended Alisson Becker after his calamitous performance against Man City.
Liverpool beaten at home
The Reds have been in pretty dreadful form of late.
When the injury crisis first hit the lads managed to pull through and they were once again top of the league at Christmas.
However, the injuries started taking their toll shortly after.
Jürgen Klopp’s side have been in more than patchy form in the past couple of months and have now lost three on the bounce at home.

The game probably would’ve ended 1-1 had it not been for a few of minutes of madness from Alisson Becker.
The Holy Goalie passed the ball out to Man City twice in quick succession to allow the visitors to open up a two goal lead.
We’ve never seen anything like it from the Brazilian.
Jürgen Klopp defends Alisson
The boss was quick to leap to the defence of his goalkeeper.
Speaking to the press after the game, Jürgen Klopp pointed out just how many times Alisson has saved us in the past, saying:
“I spoke to him a few seconds ago. He’s obviously very disappointed. You cannot decide when you make mistakes, you can only learn from them.
“Tonight it was decisive, but he saved our lives how often? He’s a world class goalie.”
What RTK has to say
Jürgen Klopp is right about Alisson, he has been there for us a million times in the past.
We can excuse one game where his head completely went.
We don’t imagine the Brazilian will start to make a habit out of these bizarre errors.
Next time out he’ll be back to his usual best.
