Reports suggest Erling Haaland is in line for some huge wages. That will be a real worry if Liverpool truly have him in their plans.
Erling Haaland could earn himself some truly staggering wages if he makes a transfer. That’s according to the Mirror, anyway.
They believe that Manchester City are huge fans of the Norwegian. And while everybody is, they can perhaps offer the most money.
Around £400k-a-week, apparently.
Haaland has a £68m release clause in 2022 but City hope to sign him this summer. They’d pay extra for that privilege, of course, but the finances don’t appear to be a major concern for them.

Reports have previously linked the Reds with Haaland. Eurosport put Liverpool in the race – and it’s one that could drive the prices over £100m.
We’d be shocked if he went for anything under that, in all truth. He has 14 goals in 14 Bundesliga games this season, as well as six goals in four Champions League outings.
That doesn’t come cheap.
What RTK has to say
Spotrac has Mohamed Salah as Liverpool’s top earner on £200k-a-week. Next is Thiago on £192k, then Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk on £180k.
We have real doubts that Liverpool would sign a 20-year-old and put him on double what anyone else earns. That just seems a bit much.
We’re not entirely sure the rest of the players would like that, given they’ve all won far more than Haaland has. It just feels like a tough situation.
Now we do love Haaland – in a lot of ways, he’s perfect. But is he ‘earns twice what Salah does before he’s won anything’ good? Not so sure.
We’ll see where this one goes but if Liverpool are splashing that kind of cash, we imagine they’d rather throw it at Kylian Mbappe. He’s more of a certainty as a superstar signing.
