With the deadline fast approaching, Liverpool could sign Ozan Kabak using a deal for Duje Caleta-Car as leverage.
Liverpool in for Ozan Kabak
According to Sky, Liverpool are working on a late move for Ozan Kabak.
The outlet has reported that the Reds are looking to bring the Turkish defender in on loan.
There would be a fee of £2.5m to pay with an obligation to buy him at the end of the season. Fabrizio Romano believes Schalke value him at around €30m (£26m).
The club allegedly have a medical booked should the deal go ahead.
However, the move is thought to hinge on whether or not the German side can find a replacement by 5pm.
Liverpool also in for Duje Caleta-Car
Liverpool have been linked with all and sundry in the past weeks and months.
According to The Mail, Liverpool have agreed a deal with Duje Caleta-Car.
The 24-year-old Croatian centre back allegedly rejected a £22m deal with West Ham over the summer.
The move has failed to progress as the French side have been unable to find a replacement for him in time.
Leverage
Liverpool have been chasing Ozan Kabak for eternity.
The Reds reported deal for Duje Caleta-Car could be used as leverage to seal the Kabak signing.
Schalke are in dire straits financially and are staring relegation in the face; they need money.
Liverpool’s interest in their defensive crown jewel is well documented, by having the papers filled with rumours around Caleta-Car, the Reds may have forced Schalke’s hand. The German side can’t afford to miss out on this sale.
