Jadon Sancho should give Liverpool plenty to think about with his form in 2021. The Reds reportedly hold interest in the winger.

Jadon Sancho is having a fantastic 2021. Five games into the calendar year, the Englishman has two goals and four assists.

Even more impressive is that Borussia Dortmund aren’t even playing well. The started the year with two wins but have since drawn won and lost two.

Sancho, though, continues to impress.

He’s a creative machine at the moment, creating at least three chances in each of those five games. Against RB Leipzig he created seven in a 3-1 win.

Sancho has at least two completed dribbles in each but that doesn’t tell the whole story. He completed five against Mainz, six against Wolfsburg and an incredible nine against Bayer Leverkusen in just 73 minutes.

So overall, Sancho is averaging 4.2 created chances per game to go alongside 2 shots and 5 dribbles.

That’s very exciting for both Dortmund and any club who fancies their chances of signing Sancho. Which brings us to Liverpool.

Tempting

It wasn’t too long ago that Sancho’s form worried us. Nothing was working for him at a time when Liverpool may want to sign him.

The Independent wrote back in October, after all, that the Reds were a 2021 prospect for his signature.

But his price back then was around £108m, per the Guardian. It’s hard to pay that for a player who isn’t doing well.

Right now, though, £108m for Sancho feels like an absolute bargain. The stats we laid out earlier are all very impressive and would command a huge fee.

Now remember that he’s still just 20. It’s incredible.

A player who had 17 goals and 16 assists last season. 12 goals and 14 assists the year before that.

Sancho’s resurgence should give Liverpool something to think about, then. We recently wrote that out of potential superstar signings, he was third on the list.

And in truth, it was a distant third. You’d want either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland far before Sancho.

But Sancho’s recent form does make us wonder if he’s perfect for Liverpool. He can play on both wings, suits the style and has now shown an ability to push through poor form in no time at all.

And again, he’s still just 20.

If Liverpool can get a deal done for anything close to £108m, they’ve surely got to be tempted.
