Liverpool have earned a reputation as one of the smartest transfer market operators in the game. The Reds have been buying low and selling high, all the time building the team of tomorrow in the academy. According to reports in Brazil, Liverpool want Kayky from Fluminense and could step up their efforts amid a bid from Shakhtar.
Liverpool’s teenage recruits
The Reds have been clever in recent transfer windows.
Liverpool have been buying up some of the brightest talents around.
This week reports emerged of the Reds agreeing a deal for the ‘best 16-year-old in the country’ Kaide Gordon.
Just weeks earlier deals were struck for Stefan Bajcetic and Calum Scanlon.
Over the summer we saw the arrival of Marcelo Pitaluga from Fluminense.
The Brazilian goalkeeper came recommended by Alisson Becker after the pair trained together during lockdown.
The teenager may have made a recommendation of his own.
Liverpool linked with Kayky
According to reports coming out of Brazil the Reds could be in for another Fluminense youngster.
Paulo Brito, a respected commentator and journalist in South America, has claimed Liverpool want Kayky – a 17-year-old right winger.
The journalist has claimed that the Reds may well move a deal along quickly with Shakhtar having allegedly made a bid for the teenage sensation.
The story was broken by the journalist for Netflu, the outlet also reported on Liverpool interest in Marcelo Pitaluga.
What RTK has to say
We can’t pretend we know much about reported Liverpool target Kayky.
Sure, there are YouTube videos out there but we’d always caution against using these compilations as a judge of ability.
This rumour would make sense given the Reds’ recent dealings and the Brazilian outfits alleged financial difficulties – the same difficulties which allowed us to bag Pitaluga for a bargain.
Hopefully there’s some legs to this one, should Shakhtar have made a bid then we may well hurry this one along.
