Liverpool sign Pitaluga

This summer the Reds brought in Thiago after a protracted saga.

He wasn’t the only longed out transfer of the window.

It felt like it took weeks for the club to tie up a deal for Marcelo Pitaluga.

Eventually the Brazilian arrived in October from Fluminense.

Alisson Becker was involved in the signing having recommended him to the club after the pair trained together when Ali was back in Brazil.

Mini Derby

The Mini Derby between Liverpool U23s and Everton U23s ended 1-1 this week.

The young Reds were down early on after Rhys Hughes put the hosts ahead.

Tyler Morton drew the youngsters level on the 35 minute mark with an excellent finish clipped into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Despite Everton going down to 10 men late on in the game Barry Lewtas’ side were unable to take advantage and the game ended with the honours shared.

Marcelo Pitaluga performance

The Mini Derby saw Marcelo Pitaluga start his first game for the U23s.

The youngster pulled off some smart saves but he wasn’t worked too hard throughout the game.

Despite not having a tremendous amount of saves to make he was still very impressive.

The teenager showed all of the qualities necessary for succeeding Alisson Becker.

He was quick off his line as a sweeper keeper and he was good with the ball at his feet.

Hopefully the Brazilian will keep his place in the side and continue to progress. We could have a real gem on our hands.
