Thiago fitness issues

This summer the Reds brought Thiago in for £20m, arriving from Bayern Munich shortly after winning the Champions League.

The deal was an undoubted coup, a world class midfielder signed for a snip.

The Spaniard broke records at Stamford Bridge just a couple of days after signing but he was then ruled out by a positive COVID-19 test.

Upon his return a horror tackle by Richarlison in the Merseyside Derby saw the midfielder sidelined for 10 weeks.

Thiago is finally back in the fold and he has been orchestrating the midfield with ease.

Emile Heskey on Thiago

Fans and pundits alike are buzzing to see the Reds’ summer signing back in the mix.

Speaking exclusively to Rousing the Kop, Emile Heskey said Liverpool star Thiago has all football fans excited.

We asked the ex-England man whether the Spaniard proved he’s the real deal in the North West Derby, Heskey replied:

“He is the real deal and we know that. It’s about getting him fit and keeping him on that pitch.

“We’ve seen little snippets of it and everyone’s excited and it’s not just Liverpool fans who are excited, all football fans are excited because they’ve seen him over the years.

“It’s about keeping him on the pitch and keeping him fit. Keeping him ticking things over and trying to create in that midfield.

“I love the passion that he plays with, it’s not all about being on the ball and being able to create stuff, it’s about putting your foot in.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool fans are made up with having their summer signing back in the mix.

The Reds have been limp without him, he’s starting to pull the strings and he’s only going to get better in the coming weeks.

As he becomes more accustomed to the players around him he will unlock more defences. We’ve every reason to be excited.
