Liverpool are still very much in the title race but this weekend saw a great opportunity missed. The Reds could’ve gone top of the Premier League table with a win against Man United but a combative draw at Anfield saw the points shared. One man was a shining light for the hosts. Thiago ran the game against Man United.

Liverpool toothless in draw
The Reds have now failed to score in three games and have failed to win in four in the Premier League.
Jürgen Klopp’s side are in a sticky run of form but Sunday won’t have raised too many alarm bells.
The Reds had a good first half, one that deserved a goal.
Had it not been for Paul Tierney inexplicably blowing up early for halftime then we may well have had that goal.
Alisson Becker spared our blushes in the second half with a string of vital saves.
The goalkeeper was forced into action on a few occasions and he was aided by some lacklustre finishing from United.
Thiago dominates v Man United
All Liverpool eyes were on one man going into this game.
Thiago made his home debut against Man United at the weekend and the Spaniard didn’t disappoint.
The midfielder made 96 passes with an accuracy of 86.5%, two of them key passes.
He registered 122 touches – more than any other player on the pitch and 53 more than Luke Shaw’s 69, the most touches for any United player.
We also saw Thiago ghost past opposition, completing five dribbles in the game.
Touch of class
It was a relief and a pleasure to see Thiago perform so well against Man United.
We’ve built him up so much that it is hard for him to live up to the billing.
Yet he does so every time he gets on the pitch and rakes a ball out to the right flank.
His technique is something to be marvelled at.
