Liverpool needed to beat Man United to go top of the Premier League tonight. The Reds failed to do so in a frustrating game. Either side could’ve won it but neither did. There were plenty of lessons from this frustrating 0-0 draw. Here are three things we learned from Liverpool v Man United:

Henderson is a phenomenal footballer
Our captain, our captain.
Jordan Henderson dropped into the back four today and kept a clean sheet.
The skipper is just a phenomenal footballer and his versatility is testament to that.
To drop into the back four and keep out the likes of Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani is no small feat.
We are lucky to have such a professional and accomplished footballer with the armband.
Thiago masterclass
£20m signing Thiago Alcantara is just an unreal footy player isn’t he.
The Spaniard has been in and out of the side due to injuries but he bossed the middle today.
The front three let him down but he still stood out. It’s easy to forget that he’s yet to properly settle into the side.
When he becomes accustomed to his teammates he’ll be lethal.
Liverpool need to sign Erling Haaland
There’s no dancing around it anymore.
The Reds need an out and out nine.
We need a player to put away chances, we need a player who can grab a goal when defences are sitting deep.
90Min believe that Erling Haaland is available for £100m. Signing him is a necessity.
We are short of goals and he’ll score them for the next decade.
