Manchester City consider themselves the favourites to sign Erling Haaland, according to reports. Hopefully, Liverpool can prove them wrong.
This comes from 90min. They claim that Manchester City believe they’re leading the race for Erling Haaland.
Chelsea, too, are ‘very interested’ in the player and have made that known to his representatives.
As for Borussia Dortmund’s side of things, they would want ‘well in excess of £100m’ for Haaland. They’re also adamant that there is no release clause this year.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool reportedly want Haaland, of course. Eurosport, to name one, claimed late last month that club insiders believe he’s the next major signing.

City will obviously be a problem for everyone in the race, though. They’re loaded with cash and Sergio Aguero is getting on a bit.
They’re need a striker and Haaland is, arguably, the striker to go for. The other being Kylian Mbappe, if teams fancy him as an out-and-out no.9.
Thus if the race is City v Liverpool, the Reds have a fight on. They won’t match City’s wage packets and can only really offer ‘footballing reasons’ for the move.
But perhaps that’s enough? It depends on the kind of person he is, really. If Haaland is someone who values football over cash, then we would fancy Liverpool’s chances of beating City to his signature.
As for our take on Haaland, we think he’s perfect. He’s a one-man attack and still unbelievably young for a player that good.
Out of everyone on the planet, he’s the one we want. Liverpool could build around him, while his physicality, pressing game, and energy all suit the Reds to an ideal point.
But this one will be a fight. If Liverpool can stump up the cash to meet Dortumnd’s demands, then fingers crossed they do. But that’s just the start of this one.
