Liverpool blew the chance to go back top of the Premier League this afternoon. The Reds were toothless in attack and once again proved that we need an out and out number nine for these games. Despite the number of fluffed chances there was one clear cut opportunity we were denied. Liverpool fans are fuming with Paul Tierney.
Liverpool draw with Man United
This should’ve been the game where Liverpool reclaimed their spot at top of the Premier League.
The Reds could’ve climbed back to the summit with a win, albeit on goal difference.
However, a stuttering second half saw Jürgen Klopp’s side held to a 0-0 draw with Man United.
There were chances for both sides but none of them taken.
The visitors arguably had the better opportunities but we had the Holy Goalie to keep them out.
Liverpool fans fume with Paul Tierney
Inevitably, Liverpool fans are fuming with Paul Tierney.
Usually, it isn’t our business to write an article about a daft refereeing decision.
They happen. Some go for you, some against you. Refereeing is subjective. Time is not subjective though (well at least not in football).
As the first half drew to a close the referee indicated a minimum of one minute added time.
He then allowed David De Gea to eat up over half of that minute with a free kick.
Moments later Sadio Mane was launched behind the Man United attack and Paul Tierney blew for half time – six seconds before the minute of added time was up.
Kopites are fuming that the half was cut short when we were on the break.
