North West Title Race

This season looks set for one of the most exciting title races of recent years.

As we head into the New Year there is no telling who will pull clear.

The Reds were once again top at Christmas and they were threatening to run away with it again.

However, Jürgen Klopp’s side are now without a win in three.

The run of results opened the door to Man United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have climbed to joint top of the table on points and can temporarily go ahead as they take on Burnley this week.

De Gea fires warning at Liverpool

Ahead of Man United’s clash with Burnley, the Red Devils’ keeper has been speaking on being back in a title race.

The Manchester giants haven’t been up there for some time now and the prospect of being back in the race is a big thing for the keeper.

David De Gea has fired a title warning at Liverpool, telling MUTV (via Metro):

“Yes I have been fighting for the title in a couple of seasons when Sir Alex was here. Now we are there again and it’s taken us a lot of time to get there to be honest and we cannot miss this chance.

“We have to be very, very focused in every game and try to win all of them. Hopefully if we are good physically and mentally then we can be there and we can fight for sure for the Premier League.

“It’s true there is a lot to play yet, but of course it’s a chance to be there, to be top of the league.”

What RTK has to say

David De Gea may be being optimistic with his Liverpool warning.

Man United have been in impressive form of late but the Reds have been sloppy.

The second half of the season should bring the best out of Jürgen Klopp’s side.

We will have Diogo Jota back, Thiago will get to grips with the team.

The side will put together a run of form when it matters.

Man United are getting there but they aren’t quite there yet.
