Liverpool are in the midst of a crisis. The Reds have lost everyone of their centre backs and they are still somehow top of the league. Given the lack of numbers at the back many believe the club should move for a defender or two in the winter window. Jürgen Klopp has discussed potential Liverpool transfer plans.
There’s no centre backs
You heard me. And the news. And the radio. If you follow the sport and you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ve heard.
Liverpool have no centre backs.
The Reds started the season with three of them and at the moment they’re all injured.
Virgil van Dijk has been ruled out for the season whilst Joe Gomez is unlikely to play again this term.

The pair picked up knee problems in Autumn and since then Joel Matip has been sidelined with his own issue.
Jürgen Klopp on Liverpool transfer plans
Many have urged the club to buy in the winter window.
We need reinforcements and fans are urging the club not to wait until the summer.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Jürgen Klopp discussed potential Liverpool transfer plans:
“I can’t say definitely we won’t bring someone in. Just not likely because of the situation in the world.
“It’s a tough for one for all people and football clubs. Some clubs don’t have financial problems but this club – these owners – very responsible.
“I don’t know if something will happen or not. It would be a short-term solution and that is not right, it doesn’t help really. Not the best moment for the whole planet so why would it be for a football club?”
What RTK has to say
This was always going to be the reality.
Liverpool can’t afford to just splash out big on a defender, particularly when the club is dealing with the financial impact of the pandemic.
We need to bide our time and get the right man. This season has been ravaged by injuries, it’s not a disaster if we don’t win the league. Just win it next year and the year after.
