Report: Liverpool want to sign David Alaba and are serious rivals

Liverpool are always on the lookout for a bargain signing. We’ve made some really nifty moves in recent seasons. James Milner was brought in on a free transfer, Andy Robertson arrived for a snip. We’ve been linked with another free transfer this summer. According to reports in Spain, Liverpool want to sign David Alaba and are serious rivals for his signature.

David Alaba serial winner

There are few more decorated footballers out there today than David Alaba.

The 28-year-old Austrian is a serial winner.

He has lifted nine Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich, as well as two Champions League trophies.

Alaba has also been capped 75 times by Austria, he was named Austrian footballer of the year six years in a row between 2011 and 2016.

Liverpool want David Alaba

Over the summer David Alaba entered the final year of his deal at Bayern Munich.

The Austrian has since decided not to sign a new contract at the Allianz and as a result the vultures are circling.

Real Madrid are said to be the front runners for the defender’s signature.

However, according to AS in Spain, Liverpool want to sign David Alaba and are ‘great rivals’ for his signature.

What RTK has to say

If Liverpool sign David Alaba then they will have solved the question of who replaces James Milner.

The Austrian, like Milner, can play near enough anywhere on the pitch.

Alaba rose to prominence as a left back but has since been deployed as a centre midfielder, winger and most recently as a centre back.

Hopefully we manage to tempt him ahead of Real Madrid.
