Up the winless Reds

Liverpool fans aren’t accustomed this type of form.

The Reds have been remarkably consistent in recent seasons, barely dropping points.

The past three games have been an aberration to say the least, Jürgen Klopp’s side are without a win in three.

West Brom held us to a draw at Anfield playing a pretty grim brand of football.

Newcastle United followed suit and their goalkeeper had the game of his life.

Southampton went one better and beat the Reds on the South Coast, helped by an atrocious decision not to award Liverpool a penalty.

Jürgen Klopp on Alexander-Arnold form

The Scouser in our team has been struggling to hit the heights expected of him in recent weeks.

The 22-year-old missed a month of action due to a calf injury and he appears to still be getting back up to speed.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Jürgen Klopp said of Alexander-Arnold and his dip in form:

“If you make people used to that level he’s shown, a game like [Southampton] was obvious case of not his best.

“He knows that. He has played some good games too.

“He started, was out with covid then had injury, no pre-season. All these things.”

What RTK has to say

When the Scouser in our team isn’t playing well, the rest of the team don’t play well.

He is so important to the rhythm and flow of our play, he creates so many of our chances.

Trent will get back to his best soon. Maybe a week off due to the FA Cup could make all the difference to him.
