FA Cup is a distraction Liverpool don't need in hectic season

Liverpool have been in a tough run of form of late. The Reds are without a win in their last three and things are looking grim. Jürgen Klopp takes his side to Aston Villa this week with fans looking for a turn in fortunes. Losing on Friday couldn’t be a disaster; the FA Cup is a distraction Liverpool don’t need in a hectic season.

Liverpool in poor form

The Reds are without a win in three games.

Liverpool were held at home by Sam Allardyce’s parked bus of a West Brom side.

Newcastle United followed suit by shutting the Reds out at St. James’ Park.

Southampton was the biggest disappointment as Jürgen Klopp’s side were beaten 1-0 on the South Coast.

The Reds have been limp, lacklustre and have looked clueless at points.

They’ll turn it around and we are confident of that.

Aston Villa next

Liverpool’s next game sees them head to the scene of the crime.

The Reds head to Aston Villa having been battered at Villa Park earlier on in the season.

The FA Cup tie is a difficult one for us, the hosts will be determined to claim another scalp whilst Jürgen Klopp will want to right the wrongs of earlier in the season whilst also keeping players fit.

FA Cup is a distraction for Liverpool

Whilst the Reds will want to prove a point on Friday night, the FA Cup is an unwanted distraction for Liverpool this season.

The last thing we need is more games for players to pick up injuries in.

We need to keep our squad fit and focused on the Premier League and Champions League.

Any further fitness issues could prove disastrous.

Sure, we need to end our poor run of form soon but the FA Cup is not the competition to do it in.
