Who is Tete?

20-year-old Brazilian Tete plays for Shakhtar Donetsk.

The youngster can be deployed on either wing or behind the striker.

He joined Shakhtar from Gremio in February 2019.

Since then he’s been impressing for the Ukrainian club, he bagged four goals and four assists in 18 league appearances last term.

Tete on Liverpool dream

Despite impressing in Eastern Europe, the Brazilian forward is hoping to move onto bigger and better things in future.

Speaking to Globo Esporte, Tete opened up on his Liverpool ambitions, saying:

“I dream of playing for Liverpool, Manchester United, but I’m focused on Shakhtar. We have a few years of my contract.

“I will play my part, I am concerned with giving my best to Shakhtar.”

What RTK has to say

Tete may be dreaming of Liverpool but he is also dreaming of Manchester United.

Essentially, he wants to join an old English institution of a football club.

We can’t see the Reds acting on this any time soon though, the man has a release clause of £133m.

Even though we may not move for the forward the interview is an indication of the pulling power Liverpool has. Hopefully the right fan grows up to play the sport.
