Liverpool can spot a bargain from a mile off. The Reds have earned a reputation as one of the sport’s most savvy recruiters thanks to their record of bringing in top talents on the cheap. We could be set to repeat the trick. Twitter has reacted to rumours of Liverpool agreeing a fee for Renato Sanches.
Who is Renato Sanches?
23-year-old midfielder Renato Sanches was once one of the most exciting young footballers around.
The Portuguese star won the European Golden Boy award in 2016, shortly after joining Bayern Munich.
Sanches had been a bright spark at Benfica but he failed to establish himself in the German Bundesliga.
He endured a difficult loan spell at Swansea City in the Premier League before he was sold to Lille in 2019.

Since joining Lille he has rediscovered his best form. He earned a WhoScored rating of 7.13 last term.
Liverpool agree Renato Sanches fee
According to Tuttomercato in Italy, Liverpool have agreed a fee for Renato Sanches.
The outlet has claimed that the Reds have capitalised on Lille’s need to raise funds urgently and the fee could be in the region of £18m.
It’s suggested that the midfielder would arrive as a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum with Inter Milan’s interest in the Dutchman mentioned.
Whilst Liverpool agreeing a fee for Renato Sanches makes sense on paper his injury record is a glaring concern.
He has suffered with hamstring problems throughout his career and that is something likely to put the Reds off.

Plenty of fans aren’t convinced.
He’s no Gini.
